Reflections on Facebook...

I go through profiles… and it feels like turning pages of that big book where everyone lives…
Facebook is that big public diary...
It tells secrets, saves memories... Keeps some moments and words alive forever...
I share those private moments with everyone and everyone seems to be sharing his own with me too, unintentionally… carelessly…
Facebook keeps posting news, opinions, preferences and quotes of famous people, dead or alive…
These words and pictures are all living together in this very special world of facebook... Collectivity of diaries, of lives, of moments…
Happy and sad moments…
On facebook; one might die but his page stays alive… as if he left a living part of him on earth… people would still be able to send messages, write on his wall, express how they feel… the relation remains yes, but turns into a holy one between a giver and a silent receiver who doesn't give a sign that he is even listening, though he responds in his own special way…
On facebook; I know everyone's news and no need to ask "what's up or how are you?" anymore…
On facebook; people graduate, get into a relationship, break up, get engaged, marry, have babies, divorce, market, die, suffer, celebrate, complain, cry, ask silently for help, or even pretend to be always okay…
Some moments are true; others are just how we want our lives to seem like…
On facebook; all your acquaintances are close friends...all the far is near… That near that you feel like you're that important person in their lives... But once you meet in real life, the truth hits you! You find out that both of you are just a couple of strangers!
On facebook; everybody can fake, but it's hard to catch the lie…
On facebook; you playback everyone's life like a movie... you see people getting old, some getting mature, some have become more happy, others have become so sad and down… some have witnessed progress in their lives, and some are just that disappointed and begging for some energy to keep running… some even don't want to run!
Some put their inner struggle right under the spot, for others to watch… they all watch, few respond but the majority watch in silence… they sneak into your wall, snap a look here and there, up and down looking for a piece of news, a sign … a clue of anything…
Facebook has deceived people, it claimed to be connecting people but it has just given them a reason not to exert effort to ask about one another, it equalized everyone… and mixed them all up! It distanced people while they feel near… until the distance becomes a fact that everyone has to accept in the name of "life"!

Facebook deprived us of the simplest ways to make one another happy…this birthday reminder takes all the joy of the day away… Birthdays existed to give people the chance to show how others are special and dear to them… one message on your birthday from a friend -which life has taken so far away- is much more precious than a 1000 wishes from those who feel nothing for you…
Facebook has put us in this endless needless competitive mood; competition of how many likes we get, how many pictures we take , how many friends we have, how many comments we get… it has all become so quantitative! And here I wonder where has the quality gone?
Facebook makes you 3 dimensional… the one who posts, the one who receives and the one who evaluates him/herself…
